Robertson Bright Inc. (RBI) is thrilled to be a partner with PowerStream on this ground breaking Energy Storage Project and were honoured to be part of the ribbon cutting and commissioning ceremony in Vaughn last month.
PowerStream is a utility company who provides power and related electrical services to over 370,000 customers outside of Toronto. This project, the first of its kind in Canada, has created 20 virtual power plants for PowerStream at each of the piloted residential properties throughout the GTA.
Each virtual power plant consists of 5-kilowatts of solar panels and an 11.4-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. The control panel, designed and manufactured by Sunverge, has an inverter and energy management system that utilize solar energy (DC) and converts it to (AC) usable power and sends it to the home owner’s electrical systems. Excess power is sent back into the grid reducing costs for the homeowner and power demand on PowerStream’s network.
This has been a proud moment for RBI and our lead electrician Voytek who was there from start to finish to ensure the project went perfectly for PowerStream. RBI looks forward to installing many more systems like this for PowerStream in years to come to help the environment and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
